About Pesticides

Pesticides are classified as any substance used to control infestation from weeds, insects, mold, bacteria, or vermin. Inhalation of pesticides is linked to a range of respiratory health issues. No pesticides are federally registered for safe use on cannabis. Likewise, the State of Michigan has not provided a list of pesticides safe for cultivation of cannabis. However, a list of banned chemical residues (including various pesticides) is available.

In accordance with MRA Rule 47(8), samples containing banned ingredients with a higher value in parts per million (ppm) than the acceptable action limit are determined to have failed testing.
